Fashion | For Love and Lemons
I love coming across new brands, especially ones from overseas because they offer something a little different compared to our usual British brands. One brand I have discovered recently is For Love and Lemons which is based in LA. I’ve been stalking them on Instagram for a while now but it was only recently that I decided to take the plunge and actually make a purchase.
As part of their summer sale, the American brand was offering 40% off everything on their site (including sale items), so obviously I had to take advantage! I guess it was a blessing in disguise that most of the things I wanted were sold out as I could have easily spent half a pay packet on goods from there. Anyway, I managed to limit myself to only three pieces from the summer collection, and it’s a good job I did!
TOP TIP – Consider the cost of shipping and import tax before purchasing
Whilst I thought I was getting a fantastic deal on some pieces from their sale, I had forgotten about the cost of shipping when I reached the checkout which set me back about £17 (ouch!). However, I figured that after my discount had been applied to the basket, it would still be worthwhile going ahead with my order. It wasn’t until I had placed my order that I considered there could also be extra charges for import tax and VAT which set me back another £30 (double ouch!).
Shipping and tax costs aside, when my goods arrived after about a week, I forgave and forgot about everything as the garments were blooming lovely! I ordered two dresses and a pair of shorts however I’m considering selling one of the dresses on my Depop as it doesn’t fit me quite right. So here’s what I got…
What I love most about these pieces is the attention to detail. The black dress has a beautiful lace overlay that it slightly longer than the dress itself so it is more visible. The light demin dress has lovely open back detail and press stud butttons, and the shorts have a stunning web-like design on each side which came in a cool organza bag labeled ‘skivvies’.
Have you ever shopped at For Love and Lemons? Or do you know any unusual brands you think I might like?
