Glamorous Glamping at Falstone Farm PoSHHuts | Falstone, Hexham
Over the past few years, glamping has been the craze to sweep the nation. The perfect solution for those who love the great outdoors but hate to compromise their modern luxuries. Last weekend I took my boyfriend away for his birthday and thought I’d book something a little different as apposed to a B&B. I came across these cosy yet glamorous glamping huts called PoSHHuts situated in the heart of Northumberland National Park – the perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway. I decided to stay at the small village of Falstone as it was nearby Kielder which has one of the country’s darkest skies. Unfortunately the clouds ruined our views of the stars but the silence was pure bliss (bar the sheep, no pun intended!). Upon arrival we were a little baffled as to where we were supposed to check in (I think we were supposed to receive a welcome email prior to arrival which unfortunately I didn’t get) however we were told by some other guests that the owners leave the key in the door ready for you arriving. During our stay there was minimal contact with the owners or any of the other guests, it felt as though we were alone in this secluded area in the country which was strange but really nice. It wasn’t until the following day that one of the owners came to see us to check how things were and if we wanted to buy any logs for the fire. We didn’t see her again after this. I was amazed by how much stuff they managed to fit into such a compact space without making the place feel cramped. I think the kitchen was my favourite part of the hut; it had everything you needed and I just love the cream, olive and wood combination. There was a cute wood burning stove inside the hut which would be lovely in the winter. We didn’t get chance to use it as it was a warm weekend and the floor was fitted with heated flooring. The logs for the inside burner are £3 a log which I thought would have been included in the overall price. I didn’t get any photographs of the bathroom but I was surprised by how big and powerful the shower was and the heated towel rail was a nice addition. The sink could have been a little larger but it’s fine if you’re just staying a couple of nights.
