Lifestyle | Restaurant Week Middlesbrough 2015
The week I’ve been waiting months for has finally arrived! Restaurant Week is back for a second time in Middlesbrough which provides me with the perfect excuse to indulge in my favourite eateries across the smoggy town.Over the past few years Middlesbrough has transformed into a place that I’m happy to call my hometown. With many striving businesses opening up left, right and centre, it’s fantastic to see a new social scene forming, job opportunities arising and more events taking place. Restaurant Week can only deliver a positive outcome for the town centre by bringing in many locals, old and new, as well as people from further afield to enjoy what our town has to offer.
What is Restaurant Week?
The event was first established in New York and has finally made its way to Great Britain and to the little town we call Middlesbrough. The week-long event gives locals the chance to sample some amazing restaurants which they may not have tried previously. Participating restaurants supply pre-fixed menus and exclusive meals at a discounted price.
Today marked the first day of Restaurant Week in Middlesbrough which is running from Monday 13th July – Sunday 19th July 2015. Me and my boyfriend decided to brighten up a dull Monday evening with a trip to Akbars, an Indian restaurant on Linthorpe Road. For just £12 per person we enjoyed a delicious three course meal, the only extras we had to pay for were our drinks!
Other participating restaurants include Central Park, Manjaros, Purple Pig and Al Forno. As you can see, you won’t be short for choice when it comes to picking a cuisine to tickle your taste buds as there are plenty to choose from including Italian, American and Indian. We’re looking to try some other restaurants this week to take advantage of the deals they have to offer. Central Park’s exclusive parmasan menu is looking very appealing! However I’m not sure about the All Day Breakfast parmo…
