The North East Blogger Awards

Last month seen the launch of the North East Blogger Awards which celebrates bloggers in the North East of England. As my one year blog anniversary approaches (16th August, eek!), winning or even being shortlisted for one of these awards would top off my first year in blogging perfectly. This post gives you a bit more information on the awards and how you can vote.

The North East Blog Awards celebrates bloggers in the North East of England. There are 12 categories to appeal to a wide range of subjects with everything from best travel blog to best looking blog. Anyone with a blog related to the North East can be nominated and a panel of judges will form a shortlist before deciding on the winners for each category. Nominations close on Friday 25th September and the winners will be announced at an award ceremony on the 10th of November.

If you’re already a reader of my blog, you will notice my passion for the North East and how much I love promoting small businesses and local places. The media often portray Middlesbrough as a beaten up old town that is full of rough people refusing to work, but this representation is far from the truth. Middlesbrough is a town filled with striving businesses that could rival those found in the city, fantastic eateries to resemble the sort you would find down the streets of London and a beautiful countryside which is hard to come by nowadays with housing estates cropping up here, there and everywhere! I’m proud to say Middlesbrough is my hometown and I want to continue sharing the best bits of the North East and everything it has to offer.
