Beauty | Revlon Photoready Primer Review
Over the last few years I’ve been taking baby steps into the big, slightly intimidating, world of beauty and one of the things I’ve never really tried is a primer. It wasn’t until recently I was unhappy with the way my foundation just wasn’t staying put on my face and I was struggling to achieve that flawless look that everyone else seems to have mastered. Whilst I’m not saying I’ve suddenly discovered the secret to flawless skin, I’ve definitely seen a difference in the way my skin looks.
I picked up the Revlon Photoready Perfecting primer from Boots for £12.99 in hope I could make my foundation last longer and disguise some of the fine lines I have cropping up on my forehead. To be honest, I’ve never really been clued up on primers however I have tried the POREfessional primer from Benefit as I’ve received a few sample sized tubes in the past. Call me naive and a little silly but although I liked the unusual, silky/matte texture of it, I never really understood its use, it just seemed like another thing to add into my daily routine that I could do without.
After looking into primers in greater detail, I now understand their purpose and can see that it’s a product that should be one of the essentials within my daily make up routine. Beginning with the packaging, I love the glass bottle is comes in and the pump to dispense, I think it could easily be mistaken for a high end product.
The primer has a lovely silky texture similar to POREfessional from Benefit, and a little goes a long way. Following application, my skin feels so soft and creates a good base for my to then apply my foundation. I feel as though photoready primer from Revlon also helps to mattify the skin which is great for me as my skin can get quite oily. My foundation applies a lot easier with the primer and lasts longer on my face too. Why has it taken me so long to add a primer to my make-up routine?!
Is a primer a product you use religiously in your beauty routine? What primer are you using at the moment?
